Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. This role involves assisting the Controller with driving and executing day-to-day accounting team responsibilities, tasks, and project-related efforts. The position provides oversight and direction to the fixed asset function, including the development of standard reports and projections related to Capex spend and depreciation. It also provides oversight and direction in the Treasury area, including reviews of weekly disbursement runs, wire payment releases, and monthly cash projection forecasts. The role is responsible for completing month-end closing, coordinating monthly accruals, schedules, and reporting (such as commission accruals, incentive/sales bonus accruals, and rebate accruals), approving and posting monthly journal entries, and approving and analyzing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of general ledger data is crucial. The Assistant Controller will oversee the daily operations of Accounts Payable, including general ledger coding, OPOS administration, and new account setup. They will also assist in T&E and PCard Concur Audits and administration, perform balance sheet reviews, and review/approve monthly account reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are properly labeled and dispositioned. A key responsibility is managing and coordinating the execution of financial audits, assisting with the development of a robust controls environment, ensuring proper controls documentation and adequate segregation of duties, and assisting the business with remediation of controls deficiencies. The role requires interaction with internal/external audit teams to facilitate efficient audits and participation in issue remediation efforts. Collaboration with staff and other departments to identify improvements and efficiencies is expected. The position provides reporting and analysis to drive Mfg Productivity of the WH site, including weekly earned hours/mix reporting, monthly and quarterly operations reporting, inventory reporting, and annual budgets. Documenting policies and procedures, managing staff including training and job development, helping the team set annual goals based on strategic initiatives, conducting semi-annual reviews of goals with individual team members, and preparing annual performance evaluations are also key duties. The Assistant Controller will lead and participate in various projects and job responsibilities as directed by the Controller.
