About The Position

One of business segments is called Life Science Optics and we are looking to add more talent to the team. The Assistant Controller / FP&A is responsible for the monthly collection, consolidation, and report out of key financial metrics across 5 manufacturing facilities in the IDEX Health & Science, Life Science Fluidics segment. This position reports to the Director of Finance and will provide support to leaders in Site operations, supply chain and manufacturing. This position requires excellent analytical and communication skills as well as knowledge in manufacturing/financial reporting and business operations in a growth-oriented environment. This role will also provide support to the other finance and accounting teams within IDEX Health & Science, as necessary. We anticipate that this position will grow within a year to include business partnering responsibilities for the Rochester, NY site; thus we seek a candidate with previous experience in cost accounting.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum of 6 years of Finance experience
  • Experience in preparing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and reporting requirements
  • Accounting/cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience with PC/ERP, JD Edwards and/or OneStream preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment within and outside of the Accounting Department
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working with remote and global colleagues from virtual office

Responsibilities

  • Lead the compilation of financial operating results and provide financial support to operations team
  • Participates in the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial reports for quarterly and monthly operation and business reviews
  • Reports key performance indices (KPI) for Operations, analyzes variances and provides insights to leaders on levers to improve metrics
  • Partner with business leaders to track and report productivity and sourcing savings initiatives
  • Participates in monthly close activities including preparing & reviewing Journal Entries, submitting and reviewing results in IDEX reporting software (OneStream)
  • Supports other finance & accounting teams in activities such as, but not limited to, SOX testing, EOZ analysis, labor utilization, and labor/burden studies
  • Participate in analysis of consolidated operations/cost financial forecasts and month-end results
  • Other ad hoc analysis to support business needs.
  • Leads and/or participates in special projects and assignments as required
