About The Position

The Assistant Controller role is an integral position within the finance team. The Assistant Controller will manage the Company's revenue accounting function, ensuring the accurate, timely, and appropriate application of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606, across Cryo and Electrolyzer revenue streams. This role will be a key partner to Commercial and Operations leadership as we progress towards our path to profitability. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic public company environment while managing one or more direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Five (5) or more years of public accounting experience; Big 4 preferred
  • Two (2) or more additional years of experience within a manufacturing company preferred
  • Proficient understanding of internal control concepts
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex assignments
  • Ability to model high standards of professionalism
  • Self-motivated individual with a critical thinking, problem-solving mindset
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze customer contracts for revenue recognition over time and on a point-in-time basis under ASC 606 across assigned revenue streams
  • Maintain key accounting schedules supporting revenue recognition calculations
  • Respond to external auditor inquiries and provide timely delivery of complete, accurate and audit-ready supporting documentation
  • Manage key tasks and close activities in the monthly and quarterly close cycles (examples include journal entries, account reconciliations, controls, and footnote disclosures)
  • Supervise and develop direct reports within the Revenue team
  • Partner with the sales and operations team to execute revenue accounting activities
  • Leverage Business Intelligence tools to improve close efficiency through standardization, automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analysis as defined by the operations leadership team for business needs
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of significant accounting policies
  • Assist in the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley program, including documentation, testing, and risk assessment
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
  • Other duties as assigned
