About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team. As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for daily financial activity, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing insights. Doodie Calls, LLC. provides sanitation services for residential, construction sites, special events, government long-term projects and disaster relief. We began operations in the fall of 2018. In the first year of operation, our focus was on strategic growth throughout the Tampa metropolitan area, we have now expanded to additional states. To serve our customers promptly and efficiently, we maintain offices throughout Florida, Georgia and Texas. Our headquarters is in St. Petersburg, FL. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• MBA or CPA a plus
• Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights

Responsibilities

• Preparing and consolidating financial statements
• Reviewing and approving journal entries
• Establishing and maintaining internal controls
• Managing all aspects of the general ledger
• Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
• Coordinating or assisting with the budget process
• Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
• Maintaining employee expense reporting process
• Analyzing and reporting cost variances
• Serving as a liaison to external auditors
• Supervising senior staff accountant
