About The Position

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our federal team at our Navy Systems, York, PA plant. Under general direction, responsible for preparing, reporting, and analyzing financial statements in accordance with management and legal reporting requirements. Overall, responsible for the general ledger, planning and forecasting, monthly closing/reporting, and audit support. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees/management and have a working knowledge of GAAP. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of broad financial experience in a Manufacturing/Government Contracting environment or 5-7 years of experience as an Accountant at a business unit.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with IT systems related to finance and operations. Individual PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Deltek Cost Point, COGNOS reporting, OneStream, and Actual Cost Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for General Ledger.
  • Prepare Journal Entries
  • Reconciliations with sub-ledgers
  • Prepare/Analyze accounts and trial balances
  • Lead Closing Process (monthly/quarterly/yearly) and generate/distribute financial reports.
  • Perform detailed Free Cash flow Analysis
  • Develop annual Plans and quarterly Forecasts and provide detailed variance analyses.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and distribution of accounting and internal control policies and procedures.
  • Complete required quarterly tax reports.
  • Assist with CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) audits.
  • Prepare annual incurred cost submittals.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation related to GAAP, FAR, and CAS. Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with FAR cost regulations, CAS administration including Disclosure Statement amendments, and other proper controls related to FAR and CAS compliance.
  • Develop, analyze, and update Estimates-At-Completion (EAC’s) for various government contracts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
