About The Position

Grand Circle Corporation is a leader in international travel, adventure, and discovery for Americans aged 50+. We are seeking an Assistant Controller to support our General Ledger team, playing a crucial role in the monthly close process and financial reporting. This individual will be responsible for reviewing accounting work, providing guidance on accounting matters, and driving process improvements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of accounting or finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and internal controls
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required

  • CPA or CMA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review aspects of the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for key areas including cash, prepaid/accrued expenses, and fixed assets
  • Partner cross-functionally to gather financial data required for reporting
  • Support the annual financial statement audit by coordinating with external auditors and preparing schedules/documentation
  • Advise on accounting implications of business transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls
  • Mentor and develop a team of accountants to drive performance and growth
  • Participate in system enhancements and implementations
