The Assistant Construction Superintendent serves as the field representative, responsible for the safe, on-budget, and on-schedule completion of projects, meeting the company's quality standards and customer satisfaction. This role involves close collaboration with the Construction Superintendent and the project team to ensure adherence to safety compliance, effective craft supervision and production, coordination of trade partners, scheduling, material handling, daily reporting, quality control, and craft training, all in accordance with company standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field, and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in construction management or a related field required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to function as part of a high-performance team.
  • Excellent working knowledge of construction methods, facilities operations and building systems.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment.
  • Software proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Suite) and report writing applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution by enforcing policies and actively participating in all safety-related functions.
  • Create AHAs/STAs with foremen for all self-performed work.
  • Review AHAs for trade partners.
  • Create material handling and site utilization plans for specific areas.
  • Coordinate with the Project Coordinator on material needs, RFIs, etc.
  • Engage in project scheduling activities while upholding a well-maintained four-week project schedule.
  • Coordinate and supervise the company workforce in their area.
  • Facilitate the coordination and scheduling of trade partners, actively engaging in weekly scheduling meetings alongside trade partners' foremen.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping, project logs, and cost records.
  • Ensure material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that receiving tickets are properly signed and coded and given to the Jobsite Administrator.
  • Responsible for all quality control on the project, both company and subcontractors.
