New York Edge is seeking a Community School Assistant Director to support the Community School Director in establishing a strong leadership role and holistic approach to improving academic performance. This role involves fostering collaborative partnerships among principals, parents, teachers, and CBOs. The Assistant Director will aid in the overall administration and implementation of the Community Schools program, including trainings, project management, scheduling, staff supervision, record-keeping, parent communication, and organizing special events. The position requires ensuring all contract components align with the vision of New York Edge and the Principal, embracing positive school climate and youth development principles. This includes building on youth strengths, maintaining high expectations, fostering positive relationships, providing challenging programming, engaging participants as partners, promoting positive identity formation, and helping young people develop their full potential. The role also emphasizes respecting and valuing the cultures and traditions of participants, their families, and communities, and treating all individuals equally, irrespective of race, religion, sex, gender identity, national origin, age, or disability. The Assistant Director must appreciate the diverse abilities and needs of children and youth in the programs.
