About The Position

The Assistant Community Manager plays a vital role in supporting the overall management and engagement of residential or commercial communities within the United States. This position focuses on fostering a positive environment by assisting with day-to-day operations, resident relations, and community events to enhance resident satisfaction and retention. The Assistant Community Manager collaborates closely with the Community Manager to ensure that all community policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to. This role requires proactive problem-solving and communication skills to address resident concerns promptly and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Ultimately, the Assistant Community Manager contributes to the smooth functioning and growth of the community by supporting administrative tasks, coordinating maintenance efforts, and promoting a strong sense of community among residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in property management, community management, or customer service roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in basic office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills daily to engage with residents, resolve conflicts, and collaborate with team members effectively.
  • Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple administrative tasks such as lease processing, maintenance coordination, and event planning.
  • Problem-solving abilities enable the candidate to address resident concerns promptly and implement solutions that enhance community satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with property management software streamlines operational workflows and data management, improving efficiency.
  • Interpersonal skills foster a welcoming community atmosphere, encouraging resident participation and retention.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with property management software such as Onesite, Appworks, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and local/state regulations related to property management.
  • Previous experience organizing community events or resident engagement programs.
  • Certification in community association management or related professional credentials.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, to better serve diverse resident populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Manager in overseeing daily community operations and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate and support community events and activities to promote resident engagement and satisfaction.
  • Manage administrative duties including lease documentation, rent collection support, and maintenance request tracking.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and service teams to ensure timely resolution of repair and upkeep issues.
  • Monitor community common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to community standards.
  • Prepare reports on occupancy, resident feedback, and operational issues for review by senior management.
  • Support marketing efforts by assisting with resident outreach and community promotion initiatives.
