About The Position

Northland is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support the Community Manager with day-to-day operations at the Bigelow Commons apartment complex in Enfield, CT. This role involves monitoring and enforcing company policies, assisting with staff supervision in the manager's absence, and overseeing rent collection and delinquency. The Assistant Manager will also collaborate with the Community Manager on profitability, cost control, and budget management, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and customer service. A key responsibility is proactively managing resident concerns to provide the best living experience.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in a sales or customer-facing role.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively while adhering to certain deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time, climb, bend, and squat.
  • Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality or property management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working weekend shifts may be required.
  • Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, or to attend training classes.
  • May be required to operate a golf cart to travel around the property.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the supervision of leasing and maintenance staff in the absence of the manager.
  • Oversee rent collection and delinquency.
  • Collaborate with the Community Manager on profitability, cost control, and maintaining the operating budget.
  • Proactively manage any concerns escalated to management.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service when working with residents, vendors, and guests.
