About The Position

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Assistant Coach, Women's Lacrosse position. This role assists the Head Coach in all phases of the Women's Lacrosse Program, focusing on coaching, teaching, player development, recruiting, and administrative duties. The position supports efforts to attract top players to the Division I non-scholarship program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of coaching experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of 5 years direct related experience is required.
  • Coaching experience in intercollegiate athletics, professional athletics, elite amateur sport, or a comparable competitive environment.
  • Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League Rules.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills, necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.
  • Excellent sport specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, internet and email capabilities.
  • Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and ability to coach and motivate.

Nice To Haves

  • Social media experience, helpful.
  • Familiarity with Teamworks, or similar, preferred.
  • Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse in all phases of the Women’s Lacrosse Program.
  • Works with a position group assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Coaching, teaching, and player development.
  • Recruiting.
  • Administrative duties such as coordinating training and travel schedules, video analysis, completing compliance information, and alumni relations.
  • Supports all efforts to continue to attract the nation’s top women’s lacrosse players to our Division I non-scholarship program.
  • Demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform duties in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League rules and regulations.
  • Report any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division to the compliance office and appropriate parties.
  • Receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office.
  • Maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification.
