About The Position

The Assistant Coach position supports the varsity athletics program at Northeastern University, reporting to the Head Coach. This role is responsible for assisting with practice and game-day decisions, player skill development, and administrative duties as assigned. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and cultivating prospective student-athletes from across the country while upholding all Conference and NCAA regulations. This position requires availability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2–3 years of coaching experience required, preferably at a Division I program
Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and understanding of Conference and NCAA regulations
Previous experience with budgeting procedures and strong communication and management skills required
Must be available to travel and work evenings and weekends as required

Nice To Haves

Collegiate playing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach with practice and game-day decisions, developing training drills for player skill development and leading positional portions of practice
Scout opponents and provide analysis to support competitive preparation
Identify, evaluate, and cultivate prospective student-athletes from throughout the country in accordance with Conference and NCAA regulations
Attend departmental meetings, programs, and clinics
Assist with fund-raising efforts as needed
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach
