About The Position

To assist the Head Coach in all facets of the program with emphasis on teaching and mentoring team member’s relative to sport specific skills, NCAA II rules and regulations, individual and team development concepts as well as life skills education. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

• Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
• Bachelors’ degree required
• At least 3 years’ experience in the sport of Swim/Dive, including playing and/or coaching.
• Other significant experience relative to coaching and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program can be considered
• Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty.
• Positive attitude a must
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach in managing and directing the program.
• Assists the head coach with all aspects of the program including practices, player instruction, game preparation, competing and scheduling.
• Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements.
• Assists in completion and processing of paperwork as requested.
• Assists with recruiting, including contacting prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school and junior college players, and maintaining accurate records and databases on the NCAA Compliance Assistant program.
• Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the University in a positive manner when interacting with the community, alumni, coaches, the media and the general public.
• Responsible for knowing, understanding, and abiding by Walsh University policy and procedure and NCAA II compliance legislation and conference rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director.
