About The Position

The Williams College Women’s Lacrosse program is seeking two ambitious, mission-driven Assistant Coaches who are ready to contribute to a culture that champions both academic and athletic competitive excellence. Williams College is a member of the highly competitive New England Small College Athletics Conference (NESCAC), which qualified seven women’s lacrosse teams for the 2026 NCAA tournament. The Williams women’s lacrosse team has a long history of success that includes seven NCAA tournament appearances, including 2026, two second place finishes and four Elite 8 appearances. One position is 10-month per year with an annual pay of $38,850. The second position is 6-months per year with an annual pay of $23,400. Both positions are fully benefitted, including year round medical and dental, full tuition remission of graduate school coursework after six months of employment, retirement plan and full on-campus meal plan during the 10- or 6-month scheduled working periods. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of college coaching experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction during practice and training sessions to assigned athletes and/or position groups
  • Design and execute practice drills based on analyzed film for upcoming competition
  • Be responsible for the set-up and break-down of position and team drills before and after practices
  • Provide both group and individual advice to athletes to improve skills
  • Responsible for break-down and distribution of game and practice film for coaches and athletes to scout for upcoming competition
  • Provide analysis to athletes and coaches of opponent film to prepare for upcoming competition
  • Evaluate potential recruits through film, contact with coaches, and other means as permitted by NCAA regulations
  • Communicate with potential student-athletes through a variety of means in compliance with NCAA standards, including phone, social media, and in-person meeting (when applicable. May require travel)
  • Ensure playing area is ready for gameday activity, including set-up of markers, stands, video equipment, and bench area
  • Provide in-competition support to assigned athletes and/or position group
  • Assist head coach in executing established gameplan, including any in-game adjustments
  • Make travel arrangements for the team to and from practice/competition (securing buses, vans, hotels, etc.)
  • Keep track of expenses for travel
  • Be prepared to drive college vehicle if necessary
  • With the Head Coach, develop a comprehensive prospect list of recruits.
  • Assist in developing strategies for off-season recruiting practices
  • Attend events where recruits are competing to assist in evaluation (travel required).
  • Participate in on-and-off campus camps used to scout and recruit potential student-athletes
  • Assist Head Coach in designing and implementing training schedules, preseason and in-season practices.
  • Responsible for break-down, analysis, and distribution of game and practice film for coaches and athletes to prepare for next season’s competition.
