About The Position

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in the direction of all phases of a nationally competitive athletic program in accordance with Barry University, the Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA DII regulations. Responsible for supporting the Head Coach by providing individual instruction/ teaching of said sport. Also, coordinates community involvement, completing/submitting administrative compliance documents and other duties assigned by Head Coach, Sport Supervisor or Athletic Director. This is a 12-month position. August 1st thru July 31st.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• 1-3 of experience related to position.
• Remains accountable for his/her actions.
• Maintains good rapport with high school and youth coaches.
• Must be constantly aware and concerned with his/her student-athletes’ mental and physical well-being.
• Exercises a high level of public contact on both the local, state and national level through games, recruiting, camps, clinics and development programs.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to streamline work processes.
• Must be comfortable with executing paperwork for projects.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Adept at written and oral communication.
• Technically proficient in all office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, supervises and conducts teaching sessions
• Establishes and maintains an organized recruiting system
• Performs administrative functions in support of the Intercollegiate Athletic program
