About The Position

Parkrose High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for Girls Tennis for the 2026-2027 season. This is a part-time position running from March to May. The coach will be responsible for teaching skills, managing athlete behavior, and promoting the sport within the school and community. This role requires adherence to OSAA and District eligibility requirements and will report to the Athletic Director and Building Principal.

Requirements

Successful coaching experience in the sport.
Experience with high school students and the sport/activity.
Verification of identity and prior employment
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance by the State Department of Education.
Online district required trainings through online Safe Schools Program
Current First Aid and CPR/AED card
ASEP/NFHS Coaching certification
OSAA Concussion certification
OSAA Steroid certification
OSAA Heat Prevention certification

Responsibilities

Provide a positive learning environment and be a positive role model for the athletes.
Teach the skills necessary for successful performance under the guidance of head coach.
Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets and events.
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies.
Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport, including coaches’ meetings.
Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athlete’s greatest potential under guidance of Head Coach.
Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner.
Keep current with new knowledge and innovative ideas and techniques in the sport.
Responsible for promoting designated sport throughout the School District and community in a positive and responsible manner.
