Assistant Coach Girls Basketball
About The Position
Paterson Public Schools is seeking three Assistant Coaches for the Girls Basketball team for the upcoming season, which runs from December 1, 2026, to March 8, 2027. This position is pending budget availability and is open for ten consecutive days following the posting date. Requirements
- New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate.
- Proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder.
- Must be available daily during the WINTER sports season.
- Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both.
- Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
- Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
Nice To Haves
- Coaching experience preferred.
- All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid".
Responsibilities
- Coach the Girls Basketball team during the WINTER sports season.
- Ensure all team members obtain required certifications (CPR, AED, Concussion Awareness, Heat Acclimatization) within the specified timelines.
- Complete a course in "Sports First Aid" within one year of hiring.
