Under the direction of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Coach should have a working knowledge of all Southern Conference and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations and adhere to these policies. This role involves assisting the Head Coach and coaching staff with game and practice preparation, opponent film breakdown, and monitoring defensive tendencies. The Assistant Coach will also travel with the team, manage defensive practice scripts, record defensive tendencies, and import defensive play calls. Additionally, the role includes monitoring student-athletes at mealtimes and performing other duties as assigned. The Assistant Coach will also assist with recruiting efforts, including evaluating recruits, communicating with them, and aiding in scholarship decisions. Teaching areas of expertise to athletes, coordinating the admission process for recruits, organizing practices, and assisting with off-season player development are also key responsibilities. The position requires frequent interaction with team players, other staff members, and potential recruits, as well as occasional contact with alumni, parents, and the community.
