About The Position

Paterson Public Schools is seeking three (3) Assistant Coaches for Boys Basketball for the upcoming Winter sports season, running from December 1, 2026, to March 8, 2027. This position is pending budget availability and requires candidates to be available daily throughout the season. Requirements

• Possession of a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR a Substitute Teacher Certificate.
• For substitute certificate holders, proof of experience is required.
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both.
• Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• Must obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid".

Nice To Haves

• Coaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching the Boys Basketball team during the Winter sports season.
• Be available daily during the WINTER sports season (Dec. 1, 2026 - March 8, 2027).
