About The Position

The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities: Provides information to the residents of Saskatchewan regarding programming for people with sight loss, blind or deafblind. Assists with the planning and implementation of outdoor recreation programs for participants and special events. Travels across the province with CNIB’s Tandem Bike program providing opportunities for the sight loss community to experience the passion for sport and recreation activities. Assists and provides guidance for individuals participating in CNIB programming. Tracks attendance of program participants. Execute invitation calls and follow-up calls to participants. Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations including answering calls and responding to in-person inquiries involving client service, special events and programming. Performs general administrative duties as required. Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience working with the public
  • University or community college student preferred
  • Related Fields of Study include social services, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service or equivalent work experience
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
  • Experience hauling a trailer
  • Clear class 5 drivers abstract
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Have a valid drivers license.
