Assistant Club Ultimate Frisbee Team Coach
About The Position
Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Club Ultimate Frisbee Coach. Stevens Campus Recreation offers 14 club sports, a wide variety of intramural sports and special events, an extensive outdoor adventure program, and a wide selection of wellness/fitness classes. Located in Hoboken, New Jersey, a historic small town just minutes from Manhattan, Stevens has an enrollment of over 4,100 undergraduate students. This position supports the growth and development of club Ultimate Frisbee student-athletes. The Assistant Coach is responsible for helping foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture while communicating departmental and team expectations. The position also assists in educating student-athletes on the policies and procedures outlined in the Club Sports Handbook.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required or must be obtained upon employment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes in a student-led club sports environment.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on the team's competition schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Previous coaching or competitive playing experience in Ultimate Frisbee is preferred.
- Collegiate coaching or club sports experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with managing all aspects of a competitive Club Ultimate Frisbee program.
- Plan and attend team practices, competitions, and tournaments as needed.
- Assist with player development by teaching fundamental and advanced Ultimate Frisbee skills, strategy, and sportsmanship.
- Help organize the team's competition schedule and coordinate travel logistics for away events.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and inclusive environment that supports student leadership and team success.
- Ensure compliance with all Stevens Institute of Technology Club Sports policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Recreation.
