About The Position

Sieda Community Action seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Clinical Supervisor in our Behavioral Health and Treatment Services Unit. Working under the general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, is responsible for assisting in the articulation and design the substance abuse counseling services of Sieda Behavioral Health and Treatment Services. The Assistant Clinical Supervisor will have primary responsibilities of providing clinical staff training and ensuring program licensure/CARF accreditation compliance. The Assistant Clinical Supervisor is expected to establish a norm among clinical staff that models the unit’s mission, vision and values; remain current on counseling techniques; and ensure the agency’s treatment philosophy is implemented in all treatment services.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in human service related field.
  • Requires two years experience working within the substance abuse treatment field
  • Requires moderate level computer knowledge and experience, has the ability to use existing program software applications with minimal training and can perform simple maintenance to keep computers operational.
  • Ability to speak comfortably and effectively one-to-one or in group settings.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems.
  • Must demonstrate good listening skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to customer/staff complaints.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of written rules and regulations and translate that information to various program staff in a format resulting in contractual compliance in the delivery of program services.
  • Travel is required both in and outside the service area.
  • Proof of auto insurance and valid driving license is required if employee claims travel reimbursement.
  • All staff are considered mandatory reporters of child abuse and required to hold a valid training certification

  • Obtain certification that requires ongoing CEUs: CADC certification through the Iowa Board of Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all treatment services comply with Iowa Department of Public Health Licensure Standards and CARF International Standards through on-going internal file monitoring and quality improvement activities.
  • Implementation and management of the unit’s use of the web-based electronic file management system, o InSync that supports clinical services.
  • Support and assist the Clinical Supervisor position.
  • Provide crisis services and coverage during staff absences.
  • Develop unit training plan, including annual needs assessment, in conjunction with management staff, and ensure the annual training plan is implemented.
  • Monitor external training activities of counseling staff to ensure training needs are met.
  • Review treatment recommendations to ensure consistency among staff.
  • Conduct clinical reviews of all persons served care.
  • Ensure persons served receive timely, professional, individualized services.
  • Perform other specific duties as required in unit programs or services as directed by supervisor.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, performance monitoring and performance evaluation of the Support Staff.
