Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Assistant Clinical Director is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and oversight of clinical services. This senior leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory and accreditation compliance, and supports the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years working in a perioperative clinical setting, with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibilities and complexity of role
  • A minimum 5 years of formal leadership, with a demonstrated ability to lead high performing multidisciplinary teams in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel when required approximately 10% of the time.

  • Adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate of Nursing and/or Masters in Nursing, Business or other relevant area
  • Current Registered Nurse in good standing
  • MBA or equivalent business degree

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary clinical team to foster collaboration and staff engagement across all levels.
  • Ensure staffing levels and ratios align with patient acuity, workload, and College standards.
  • Support ongoing professional development in partnership with facility team.
  • Lead physician recruitment efforts alongside the Medical Director.
  • Oversee completion of credentialing and privilege applications.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
  • Prepare the site for Accreditation Canada and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Facilitate monthly / quarterly Quality and Medical Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the development and implementation of new clinical programs and services.
  • Ensure accurate monthly and annual reporting.
  • Contribute to reporting on clinical operations and performance.
  • Monitor clinical revenue and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Manage clinical budgets, support CAPEX planning, and oversee clinical equipment evaluations.
  • Maintain cost controls for medical and office supplies in collaboration with operations.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Stay current with clinical best practices and advancements in medical technology
  • Support and lead the adoption, integration, and optimization of organizational technological advancements, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), to enhance clinical workflows and patient care.
  • Promote staff engagement and training initiatives to ensure effective utilization of new technologies and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
