About The Position

The Illinois Pollution Control Board (IPCB) is seeking to hire an Assistant Clerk of the Board. This position is responsible for the docketing of adjudicatory and regulatory pleadings and filings. The position advises and consults with Board members and administrative staff on legal requirements pursuant to federal and state mandates and gathers information regarding the status of pending contested cases.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  • Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of professional experience, preferably in State government.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the Board’s clerk in the docketing of adjudicatory and regulatory pleadings and filings.
  • Advises and consults with the Clerk, Board members, and administrative staff on requirements pursuant to federal and state mandates.
  • Gathers information regarding the status of pending contested cases.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
