About The Position

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the building's critical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves managing HVAC systems, fire safety equipment, elevators, and various other mechanical and electrical components.

Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: HVAC systems management (Climatec), Boiler operations, Chilled water systems, Fire safety equipment, Generator maintenance
  • Problem-Solving: Issue identification and reporting, Routine maintenance tasks
  • Communication: Vendor management, Team coordination
  • Organizational Skills: Schedule management, Inspection scheduling
  • Attention to Detail: Room temperature adjustments, Equipment checks
  • Technical Knowledge: Climatec system proficiency, Elevator operations

Responsibilities

  • HVAC computer – Climatec system
  • Boiler on, temperature, flow pressure
  • Chilled water differential pressure
  • AHU 11-1 coil temperature
  • Checking all room temperatures
  • Adjusting room temperatures
  • Climatec contacts
  • Elevators: Ensure all are working properly. Call in issues to KONE Abe mobile phone information
  • Fire Systems: Schedule December inspections. Pumps, sprinklers, tanks, smoke heads, panel, extinguishers, hoses
  • Generators
  • Other items: Check annual To Do schedule – add, make changes, adjust as needed. Change ballasts. Light bulb replacement & storage. Ice machine maintenance. Cut keys. Sebastian morning / daily duties. Setups – table, chair, drink, ice, etc…
  • Vendor Contact Information - Spreadsheet: HVAC – HCL, CFI, Climatec. Plumbing – HCL. Electric – MidWest. Lighting – FSG. Fire Systems – FireTron, Union Fire. Exterior name signs - National Sign. Domestic water pumps. HVAC filters. Ice machine.
