Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
2+ years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
Experience as a journeyman-level engineer with strong skills related to building automation systems, life safety systems, preferred.
Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation, preferred.
Proficiency in basic computer application software such as MS Office.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contractors, architects, and engineers.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation, preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct maintenance staff and monitor service requests, ensuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently.
Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required to restore it to satisfactory operating condition.
Provide training and supervision to the operations staff demonstrating proper use and care of tools and instruments providing hands-on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.
Oversee and implement the preventative maintenance program by scheduling maintenance with minimal operational disruption, performing or delegating maintenance tasks, procuring necessary parts and equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Follow departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Ensure operating inventory of tools and supplies with preparing and submitting purchase order requests, developing sourcing for stock materials, and performing periodic checks of supplies.
Assumes the Chief Engineer's responsibilities if the Chief Engineer is not on site.
Other duties as assigned.
