Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • 5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience as a journeyman-level engineer with strong skills related to building automation systems, life safety systems, preferred.
  • Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation, preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic computer application software such as MS Office.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and outside contractors, architects, and engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a journeyman-level engineer with strong skills related to building automation systems, life safety systems, preferred.
  • Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance staff and monitor service requests, ensuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently.
  • Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required to restore it to satisfactory operating condition.
  • Provide training and supervision to the operations staff demonstrating proper use and care of tools and instruments providing hands-on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Oversee and implement the preventative maintenance program by scheduling maintenance with minimal operational disruption, performing or delegating maintenance tasks, procuring necessary parts and equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Follow departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure operating inventory of tools and supplies with preparing and submitting purchase order requests, developing sourcing for stock materials, and performing periodic checks of supplies.
  • Assumes the Chief Engineer's responsibilities if the Chief Engineer is not on site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
