About The Position

AMG Specialty Hospital - Lafayette is seeking a Full Time Assistant Chief Clinical Officer (ACCO) to be a member of the administrative team of our hospital and as such participates in decision-making, policy determination, and planning and operations of the hospital. She/he has the responsibility for the management of all nursing practices. The Assistant Chief Clinical Officer must have knowledge of current theoretical approaches to delivering nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts and current leadership, management, and performance improvement concepts and the ability to participate in developing and implementing strategies to address opportunities for improving nursing care. This position holds the responsibility for Quality, Infection Control and Employee Health. She/He is responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel. By authority of the Infection Control Committee, she/he may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions. She/He is responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control. Concerning Employee Health, he/she is responsible for attending to all employee work related injuries and recommending appropriate action, as well as communicating with the risk manager any trends in the workplace. He/she is also responsible for pre-employment medical screening tests, as well as annual recurring screens. Also, he/she serves as a liaison to the worker's compensation carrier for our hospital. He/she is responsible for development and implementation of the hospital's Utilization Review plan.

Requirements

  • Current Louisiana Registered Nurse Licensure in good standing
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of three to five years' experience in nursing administration
  • Current ACLS
  • Current BLS
  • Basic computer knowledge
