Employees supervise the provision of support coordination services to people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism to assist them in attaining a more inclusive social, economic, emotional and physical life while maintaining health and safety. Work involves responsibility for supervising and training a small group of professional county social service workers, but the worker may also carry a caseload. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in achieving objectives. Work is reviewed by a professional or administrative supervisor through conferences, reports and results attained. This position may require work beyond the 37.5 hours of work per week, depending on the demands of the work. The employee will work in collaboration with the Director(s) of the unit and Administrative Entity (AE) staff to promote a cooperative work effort within the Support Coordination Unit. They will promote a cooperative work effort within BHDS's various components, e.g. administrative, mental health, as well as contracted service providers and the community at large. The employee will attend and participate in management and other meetings as needed. The employee will support business decisions of the agency and work to positively promote changes to support coordinators.
