About The Position
The assistant coach assists the head coach in running a successful varsity cheer program which performs and competes as an emerging sport in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III program and as a member of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA). This mainly includes recruiting student-athletes, assisting with practices, competition coaching, and mentoring our student-athletes. The assistant must understand and promote the mission, goals, values and educational ideals of Oxford College of Emory University.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in developing and administering a competitive NJCAA Competition Cheer/Dance Program in accordance with NJCAA and University regulations.
- Coaching and developing proper stunting techniques, tumbling and choreography.
- Monitor student-athletes skill progress and provide feedback and motivation to help them improve their performance.
- Ensure that all training sessions are conducted in a safe and effective manner.
- Recruiting student-athletes.
- Assisting with practices.
- Competition coaching.
- Mentoring our student-athletes.
