About The Position

The Assistant Cheer Coach will assist the varsity coach in all aspects of the program. The applicant must be able to display a commitment to high ethical and professional standards, a demonstrated ability to lead young student athletes toward academic and athletic excellence, a strong ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, and be skilled in organization, time management and a commitment to the vision of the Sherwood Athletic Program. A great understanding of the training, skill development and coaching techniques involved in high school cheerleading is required, as is the ability to generate excitement and enthusiasm for the sport of cheer throughout the community. A commitment to the importance of academic excellence and achievement for all student-athletes in the program is also essential.
