Family Independence Administration's provides temporary help to individuals and families with social service and economic needs to assist them in reaching self-sufficiency via essential and diverse programs/services, such as temporary cash assistance, SNAP, childcare, eviction prevention services, adult protective services, job training, employment plans/support, domestic violence assistance, child support enforcement, etc. Under the direction of the SNAP Deputy Director, with considerable latitude for decision making, performs difficult and responsible specialized administrative work supervising the functions of the City-wide Claims Units and/or supervising the functions of the City-wide Special Projects Units. The City-wide Claims Units are responsible for determining if Food Stamp claims should be filed on cases with change actions resulting in a benefit issuance change. The City-wide Special Projects Units are responsible for processing cases identified through computer matches, and city-wide projects involving the processing of cases and resolving data entry discrepancies. These incumbents are rotated periodically and used interchangeably within the Reception, Applications, Control, Recertification, Special Projects, and Change Center sections within the food stamp sites. FIA’s SNAP division is recruiting for two (2) Principal Administrative Associate, II’s to function as Assistant Center Managers.
