About The Position

The Learning Experience – Lake Linganore is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Center Director to help launch its newest early childhood education center. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a school from the ground up, mentor a new team of educators, and create a thriving environment for children, families, and teachers. Working collaboratively with the Center Director, the Assistant Center Director will be instrumental in daily operations, teacher development, enrollment growth, licensing compliance, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all families.

Requirements

• Must meet Maryland Office of Child Care qualifications for an Assistant Director (Senior Staff Member) in a licensed childcare center
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education and child development preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of Maryland childcare licensing regulations
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Passion for mentoring teachers and delivering exceptional early childhood education

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Center Director to oversee the daily operations of the center
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing teaching team
• Conduct classroom observations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development
• Ensure compliance with all Maryland Office of Child Care (OCC) regulations and company policies
• Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality throughout the center
• Lead tours for prospective families and help drive enrollment growth
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, licensing documentation, and center administration
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service
• Step into classrooms when needed to support children and teachers
