About The Position

As a member of the Category Management department, a qualified candidate will take direction from Category Managers and the Director of Category Management. This role involves overseeing the development and execution of sales aids and mock-ups, taking a concept from idea to production. The Assistant Category Manager will collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure successful project completion, while adhering to brand standards and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and software skills are essential.

Requirements

• Ability to handle a lot of details and multiple projects at one time.
• Strong basic mathematical skills are required, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University or related industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC operation preferred.
• Knowledge of furniture construction and woodworking.
• Woodworking skills.
• Background and aptitude for future Category Management consideration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and execution of sales aids and mock-ups.
• Take a concept and deliver ideas and execute on production of the signed off concept.
• Collaborate with other departments to derive at a solution in development that will meet the needs of the sales force.
• Develop, communicate and work effectively with outside vendors as well as internal production.
• Handle a lot of details and multiple projects at one time.
• Work with Marketing to make sure Brand standards are adhered to.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
