About The Position

As the Assistant Manager for Milky Way Summer Camp, under the direction of the Camp Manager, you will oversee staff operations and provide necessary leadership and program design to make the camp experience fun, safe, and inclusive. You will assist the Camp Manager as required to oversee day to day operations, directly oversee medication collection and disbursement, and work with the Camp Manager to manage staff and camper issues with the Recreation and Events Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience managing camp or child program experiences is necessary.

  • Overseeing logistics for programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee camp activities and monitor both lead counselors and counselors.
  • Support needs identified by lead counselors.
  • Provide support to staff as necessary.
  • If there is an issue with a camper, health or behavior-related, call their parents and help to sequester the camper.
  • Ensure that all staff are behaving and acting in a way that maintains high safety standards.
  • Ensure that we are in compliance with facility protocols during field trips.
  • Work to communicate necessary information to parents and answer their questions as necessary.
  • Help to deal with any parental communication that requires an adult.
  • Oversee check in/check out process.
  • Further duties as assigned.
