About The Position

This position will be responsible for supporting the Jack Entertainment Purchasing team with execution of various purchases, running reports, preparing credit applications and other administrative activities associated with purchasing. This position will assist in the sourcing and buying processes of any category as deemed by the buyers in support of the Company’s strategic sourcing and purchasing strategy. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a cross-functional purchasing team and partner with the properties and strategic purchasing department as well as interface with the vendor community and Jack Entertainment Sourcing team.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong organization skills and detailed orientated.
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge) in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory software preferred, and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to understand and perform intermediate math functions (i.e., discount percentages, markups, freight allowance percentages).
  • Must possess ability to operate, fax, copier and/or calculator.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Culinary or other related degree preferred.
  • 1 years’ experience in an administrative role preferred.
  • Knowledge to purchasing, supply chain and line of supply procedures and practices strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high quality service levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions.
  • Upload bids on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis into the purchasing system.
  • Prepare new vendor set-up forms, assist with new vendor investigations.
  • Assist with curing the variance queue on a daily basis.
  • Assist in evaluating existing suppliers vs the need to develop new suppliers for particular company needs.
  • Create and submit IT setup forms, expense reports and other administrative paperwork.
  • Completion of credit applications, where necessary, coordinating with the Legal and Finance teams.
  • Maintain positive company image and strong supplier relations through timely supplier contact.
  • Personally abides by and enforces ethical practices and all other aspects of the company procurement policy. Ensure that all vendor relations are devoid of any business practices which could be deemed questionable business conduct.
  • Comply with all Internal Controls and gaming-related regulations as they pertain to the purchasing function.
  • Other duties as assigned by purchasing management.
