This position is responsible for the designated departmental sales, gross margin, and turnover objectives for the CGX retail organization. The Assistant Buyer manages all aspects of the business for all retail stores and the web by creating effective assortments, influencing product creation as appropriate, maximizing business by style by store, managing product presentation, and ultimately driving top-line sales and profitability. The role operates under the general supervision of the Buyer or Associate Buyer, functioning independently within the framework of CSC/CGX policies, procedures, and regulations. The Assistant Buyer exercises independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, consulting with the supervisor on policy matters, deviations from normal procedures, or unusual situations. Maintaining professionalism, courteous behavior, and teamwork is essential, along with providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Performance is evaluated on operational performance, skills, customer service, collaboration, teamwork, leadership, and individual performance objectives. The role involves attending trade shows and markets, conducting store visits to evaluate merchandise presentation, customer demographics, stock assortments, and inventory levels. Additionally, the Assistant Buyer works closely with Regional Managers and store management to address and maximize business opportunities and maintains collaborative partnerships with vendors and colleagues.
