About The Position

As Assistant Buyer Intern you will work in one of Kohl’s Merchant Offices, assist the merchandising team in analyzing the business and learn to drive key pricing and marketing processes while providing operational support.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Junior majoring in Retail Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing or Management
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience creating, analyzing and manipulating spreadsheets
  • Analytical mindset
  • Adept attention to detail and excellent multitasking abilities
  • Passion for products and customer obsession

Responsibilities

  • Analyze assigned lines of business by generating, reviewing and interpreting weekly reporting
  • Learn about in-store and online pricing strategy and execution
  • Participate in marketing conversations, ensuring Kohl’s is represented in a way that supports our product strategies while learning how to execute sample turn-ins for photo shoots, advertising proofing and digital experience reviews
  • Actively engage in competitive shopping, analyzing trends and competitor pricing and marketing
  • Network with over 250 interns participating in Kohl’s internship program at Corporate Headquarters
  • Hear directly from senior leaders through Kohl’s Executive Speaker Series
  • Additional tasks may be assigned
  • Ability to perform the accountabilities listed in the “What You’ll Do” Section
  • Ability to comply with dress code requirements
  • Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation
  • Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements as set by the company
  • Ability to learn and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from leadership and other company personnel
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively and appropriately with others
  • Ability to maintain composure and work in a fast paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes
