About The Position

Curtis Media Group seeks a Broadcast Engineer/IT Technician to join our experienced Engineering team in Raleigh, NC. This role involves managing various Windows operating systems and devices, troubleshooting IT and broadcast-specific issues, and potentially assisting with studio construction and repair. The company offers on-the-job training in broadcast engineering.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with various versions of Windows operating systems on a wide variety of devices.
  • Some knowledge of Windows server software.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory.
  • Basic knowledge of LAN architecture including managed network switches and other hardware.
  • Some amount of mechanical knowledge and skill.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Knowledge of soldering and other repair techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of studio construction.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with broadcast automation software.
  • Experience with MediaTouch, BE AudioVault, and Wide Orbit playout software.
  • Some basic knowledge of radio studio and audio equipment.
  • Familiarity with RF, broadcast transmitters, and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage various versions of Windows operating systems on a wide variety of devices.
  • Deal with typical IT problems encountered in an office environment.
  • Address specialized issues specific to radio broadcasting.
  • Perform tasks requiring mechanical knowledge and skill, including using common hand tools, soldering, and other repair techniques.
