About The Position

This role is responsible for the efficient and effective daily management of the Branch office in the absence of the Regional Branch Sales Manager. The Assistant Branch Sales Manager ensures that the Bank’s established policies and procedures are adhered to while achieving established sales goals. This position assists the Regional Branch Sales Manager in building a strong sales and service team, provides personalized customer service by learning about customer needs and financial goals, and represents the bank at community activities when requested. The Assistant Branch Sales Manager assists in coordinating and overseeing daily branch operations while serving as a role model for the staff with a high level of professionalism and customer service skills. Strong leadership and motivational skills, a desire to grow within the organization, and flexibility in time required are essential for this role. This is a 40-hour per week position and may include working extra hours to properly support the Customer Service line and Bank operations.

Requirements

  • A strong leadership role proven in prior work experience.
  • Demonstrated success by achieving both individual and branch sales goals.
  • Ability to accept and perform new job responsibilities as needed.
  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or 5 years of service in the business world in a leadership position.
  • Strong Computer Skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Knowledge in Loan Doc and Fiserv Systems.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid product knowledge; proactive leadership in learning new products/services.
  • Knowledge of IRA/HSA rules and documents.
  • Must maintain knowledge to ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and Bank policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Must interact professionally with other employees, board members, customers and external vendors.
  • Must act in accordance with the Lake Shore Savings Bank Code of Conduct Policy.
  • SAFE ACT Mortgage Licensing required (NMLS).

Responsibilities

  • Observing recruitment of potential candidates for employment.
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels by developing interviewing techniques.
  • Working closely with the Human Resource Department to identify candidates.
  • Supervising Customer Service Specialists, Head Customer Service Specialists, and Personal Bankers.
  • Ensuring appropriate staff training for job, product knowledge, and sales skills.
  • Ensuring all staff members are properly cross-trained for adequate branch support.
  • Working with Personal Bankers and Customer Service Specialists to create personal development plans.
  • Providing semiannual one-on-one discussions with employees regarding performance.
  • Providing sales coaching to Personal Bankers and Customer Service Specialists.
  • Assisting Customer Service Specialists and Personal Bankers in diffusing customer concerns or issues.
  • Disciplining and discharging employees using the Progressive Discipline program, in consultation with HR and the Regional Branch Sales Manager.
  • Delivering branch staff Employee Performance Appraisals in a timely and organized fashion.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely input of branch payroll, time sheets, and tracking of Time Away from Work.
  • Maintaining a professional image at all times while representing the Bank.
  • Representing the Bank in a positive manner at all times by providing customers with exceptional customer service.
  • Developing and maintaining customer and business relations through outside business calls, daily contact, and proactive customer contact.
  • Making outbound phone calls to existing and potential customers to promote products and promotions.
  • Being fully knowledgeable in all products and services of the bank and aware of all sales promotions.
  • Representing the Bank within the local community through a leadership role in an appropriate organization.
  • Assisting in the On-Boarding process for all new accounts.
  • Providing guidance for customers and branch personnel concerning all products and services.
  • Ensuring follow-up contact occurs with customers within 24 hours.
  • Conducting regular Sales and Operational meetings with staff.
  • Accepting responsibility for all operations of the branch location.
  • Assisting staff members in answering questions and solving customer and branch concerns.
  • Ensuring all daily activities are completed in accordance with internal controls and Bank policy.
  • Ensuring staff participates in mandatory annual compliance training and promotes educational training.
  • Opening the branch 5 minutes early and closing the branch 5 minutes late.
  • Reviewing appropriate reports including closed accounts, overdrawn accounts, safe deposit delinquency, manager reports, and daily $10,000 report.
  • Coordinating ordering of branch office supplies.
  • Responsible for the monthly tracking and quarterly input of the Incentive program for customer service staff.
  • Interviewing consumer loan applicants, gathering required information, and explaining loan options.
  • Qualifying borrowers for loans and providing documentation for underwriting.
  • Cross-selling Lake Shore Savings Bank products.
  • Assisting in the development of mortgage customers by visiting local realtors.
  • Maintaining the inside and outside appearance of the branch to high levels of cleanliness.
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned.
