The Assistant Branch Manager will support daily branch operations and lead drivers in their day-to-day activities to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operations. This role involves working alongside branch leadership to ensure all day-to-day operations are completed, including completing routes for absent employees and assisting with morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks. The Assistant Branch Manager will also help track and update daily department reports, monitor compliance with safety, DOT, and company policies, and monitor freight flow and route performance, escalating issues to leadership as needed. This position will recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service, participate in weekly operational meetings, and provide feedback to management regarding performance evaluations, attendance, or safety concerns. Additionally, the role involves assisting in training and onboarding new staff, and travel may be required. The Assistant Branch Manager must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's degree in Business Management, Logistics, or Operations Management or a related field is preferred. A valid CDL Class A driver's license is required, or the ability to successfully complete company-paid CDL training within 90 days of employment. At least 1 year of experience in the transportation industry and leadership is preferred.
