About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for helping lead and driving new business, ensures that we provide excellent and consistent member experience, while maintaining sound branch operations. This highly motivated, passionate, self-starter leads through example, demonstrating an owner mentality with achieving strong results on the branch objectives and goals. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for providing efficiency improvements. Assists with opening and closing the branch in accordance with set hours. Ensures the branch balances all transactions at the end of each day. Runs related reports and complete all checklists at the end of each day. Completes branch certifications as assigned by guidelines within the procedures. The Assistant Branch Manager must be flexible, willing, and able to migrate between the teller line and platform seamlessly. This role will be to help to maintain and deepen relationships with members and community business partners. This individual will take an active part in positively representing Premier America Credit Union in the community with events and activities to drive growth to meet and exceed branch goals. Additionally, this role is responsible for helping with the administration and efficient daily operation of branch team members, including but not limited to meeting all production, service and revenue goals, operations, security, safety, processing transactions, placing members in appropriate account products, cross-selling other credit union services and referring members to other departments as appropriate. Helps to manage branch budgets, business performance, and promote cost effective operations. Helps to develop, direct, and supervise branch team members. Assists with recruiting and interviewing key team members to fit in with the Premier America culture. Provides timely feedback, training, and coaching. Supports and consistently executes the structure and expectation of the Sales and Service Playbook. Demonstrates leadership excellence with every interaction with members and team members. This position is a designated Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), and as such, requires full compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing (SAFE) Act.

Requirements

  • A high school degree or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • One to three years of Supervisory/Management experience.
  • Sales, service, operations, and lending experience existing deposits (savings, money market, checking, certificate of deposits); loans (business, consumer, mortgage); and ancillary loan products (guaranteed asset protection, mechanical breakdown, and debt cancellation) knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of success meeting and/or exceeding established goals.
  • Outstanding member focus and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and help lead a high performing team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to speak publicly and network for new business opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of Episys/Symitar Core System, a plus
  • Cash handling experience.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
  • In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Typically, it includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Responsibilities

  • Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new operational procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for related functions as required or assigned.
  • Keep management informed of branch activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems promptly.
  • Institutes prudent safety measures.
  • Ensures high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained with established Credit Union policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Determines work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
  • Responsible for the delivery of outstanding member service, achievement of growth goals, operational efficiencies, and development of team members.
  • Communicates and coordinates the various aspects of branch operations required to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • In the absence of the Branch Managers, ensures a designated greeter and welcomes all credit union visitors to Premier America and directs them to appropriate areas in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
