About The Position

The Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach is responsible for coaching student athletes in preparation for events or competition. The coach motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation for the sport. This position is a partial stipend.

Requirements

  • Coaching student athletes in preparation for events or competition.
  • Motivating student athletes to develop an appreciation for the sport.
  • Working with players during practices and games.
  • Holding organizational meetings for team prospects and encouraging students to participate.
  • Assessing skills and assigning team positions.
  • Developing a regular practice schedule and organizing practice time for individual and team development.
  • Scheduling facilities for practices and competition with the athletics director.
  • Coaching and instructing players on rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques.
  • Observing players during events and practice for improvement needs.
  • Establishing and maintaining pupil behavior standards and providing supervision.
  • Monitoring academic performance of team members for eligibility.
  • Following injury procedures.
  • Adhering to state, regional, and district regulations.
  • Modeling sports-like behavior and appropriate conduct.
  • Following procedures for supplies and uniforms.
  • Modeling nondiscriminatory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Works with players during practices and games.

  • Coaches and instructs players individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Observes players during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times.
  • Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
  • Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.
  • Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the program.
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms.
  • Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
