About The Position
Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season. This role involves supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director, and other coaching staff. The season is scheduled to begin in November and conclude in February, with potential for postseason play. The position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000, prorated for coaches starting after the official season start.
Requirements
- Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Playing experience
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
- High level of personal organization and planning
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director and other coaching staff
- Implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations
- Attending all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations
- Participating in ongoing professional development
- Committing to the Propel Habits
