Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach - 2026/2027
About The Position
Propel Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season. This role involves supporting the Varsity program with the head coach, athletic director, and other coaching staff. The position requires implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations, attending all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings, and demonstrating a high level of personal organization and planning. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and a commitment to the Propel Habits. The season runs from November to February, with potential for postseason play. The position includes a seasonal stipend of $3,000, prorated for coaches starting after the official season start.
Requirements
- Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience.
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach.
- Playing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level.
