About The Position

The Behavioral Technician I implements naturalistic developmental behavioral treatments based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the oversight of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Behavior Technician will work primarily with patients registered in Autism Clinic intensive early intervention programs. The Behavioral Technician will participate in evaluation of new patients to assess treatment needs, prepare instructional materials, and implement individualized behavioral treatment plans in both 1:1 and group settings. The Behavioral Therapist will collect and graph data to assess progress and treatment outcomes and participate in daily and weekly team meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to relate to a multi-ethnic community and varied learning levels.
  • Ability to collect and document patient care data with accuracy and confidentiality in all required records of the patient care process.
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic form to patients, public, hospital/clinic and medical staff, and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Under the oversight of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, assists with naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions to young children receiving early intervention services.
  • Monitor child whereabouts at all times while in program and assist with daily living activities during program participation.
  • Collects data regarding child progress during treatment.
  • Observes parent education sessions lead by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst or senior therapists.
  • Assists Board Certified Behavior Analyst and other staff in writing daily notes as well as analyzing data to assess progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Assists in material prep and classroom organization.
  • Participate in daily rounds and weekly supervision meetings.
  • Upload and organize video recorded data for research and supervision purposes.
