About The Position
American Heritage Schools- Palm Beach Campus is seeking a qualified Assistant Athletics Coach- Basketball to join our Athletics Department. The Athletic Coach instructs and works with athletes to prepare them for games and competitions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in coaching basketball.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in coaching specific sports is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assists with preparing and conducting individual and team practices, pieces of training, and competitions.
- Teach and instruct all aspects of the game
- Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes
- Works with other Athletic Coaches in general and specific coaching procedures, methods, and techniques.
- Provides technical support and training to athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
- Assign specific positions and come up with drills and organized game strategies.
- Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses
- Encourage student participation and establish rapport
- Maintain equipment and uniforms
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Other duties as needed.
