About The Position

The Assistant Banquet Manager plays a key supporting role in the execution of all event functions, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully prepared and flawlessly delivered. This individual works closely with the Banquet Manager to lead the team, maintain the highest standards of service, and create memorable guest experiences from start to finish. The ideal candidate takes pride in both leadership and hands-on work—whether assisting with event setup, guiding the team during service, or supporting administrative and planning efforts behind the scenes. Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in events, banquets or hospitality leadership preferred.
  • Background in front-of-house service strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance floor leadership with administrative responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Banquet Manager in the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of all events.
  • Assist with arranging tables, chairs, linens, and service stations according to event specifications.
  • Lead by example during service—remaining present on the floor to support the team and ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Help conduct pre-event lineups by reviewing event details, service expectations, and menu offerings with the team.
  • Ensure all event spaces and restrooms are properly cleaned and maintained before, during, and after events.
  • Monitor event flow and proactively address any service or operational issues.
  • Provide exceptional guest service and assist with guest needs, questions, or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support team members by coaching, training, and reinforcing service standards.
  • Assist in evaluating team performance and identifying opportunities for growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and service guidelines.
  • Maintain event ambiance by assisting with lighting, music, décor, and overall presentation standards.
  • Uphold all local and state alcohol service laws and regulations.
  • Assist with administrative and collateral tasks, including updating event details, organizing BEOs (Banquet Event Orders), maintaining event documentation, and supporting communication between departments.
  • Support inventory tracking, ordering, and organization of banquet supplies, linens, and equipment.
  • Perform general operational support tasks as needed, including light maintenance or troubleshooting.
