Assistant. Bakery Team Lead
About The Position
Delivers fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to Market 32/Price Chopper customers. Assists the Bakery Manager with day-to-day bakery operations, including compliance with merchandising, sanitation and training policies and procedures. Inspects bakery products to maintain availability and quality and maximize sales opportunities. In the Bakery Manager’s absence, oversees department operations. The role supports product preparation, baking, merchandising and presentation; customer special orders; associate training; inventory; and financial and shrink-control activities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support others, with strong follow-through in achieving desired results and objectives.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 6–12 months of related experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service while following company 5S efficiency standards.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S standards.
- Assist with bakery operations, including product preparation, baking, merchandising and final presentation of bakery products.
- Oversee department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, service and sanitary conditions, with adequate presentation and product variety.
- Comply with corporate and state sanitation regulations.
- Manage and fulfill customer special orders accurately and on time.
- Assist with training and development of bakery associates and ensure associates follow company safety and training policies and procedures.
- Assist the Bakery Manager in maintaining inventory levels in freezers, coolers, back rooms, supplies and Deco Pac.
- Develop proficiency in bakery financial activities, including paperwork, weekly shrink, transfer sales and budgets.
- Control shrink by following related policies and procedures.
- Inspect bakery products to ensure availability and quality.
