About The Position

As an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) at Insomnia Cookies, you will help bring a warm and welcoming atmosphere to life every day by working side-by-side with your Bakery Operations Manager (BOM). Your role will involve building an energized, well-trained team, creating unforgettable guest experiences, and ensuring the bakery operates at its best. You will coach and develop people, contribute wherever needed, and take ownership of the details that make a great bakery successful, including staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution. When the BOM is unavailable, you will be prepared to lead. This position is designed for individuals seeking more than an assistant manager role; it's an opportunity to learn the business, grow as a leader, and develop the skills necessary to manage an Insomnia bakery independently.

Requirements

1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Partner with the BOM to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, ensuring the team remains focused and operations run smoothly.
Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback, recognition, and support.
Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
Assist in creating schedules and managing labor to meet the bakery's and business's needs.
Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and overall bakery execution.
Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership on solutions.
Help foster a culture where team members understand expectations, feel supported, and are accountable for their best performance.
Contribute wherever needed, including serving guests, baking cookies, and supporting the team during peak hours.
