About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing all bakery operations, ensuring high-quality baked goods, attractive merchandising, and exceptional customer service. This role assists in driving sales, maintaining food safety standards, and leading the bakery team in a fast-paced production and retail environment.

Requirements

Previous bakery, food service, or retail experience preferred
Knowledge of baking processes and food handling practices
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
Leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

Assist in managing daily bakery production, including baking, packaging, and product replenishment
Ensure consistent availability of fresh, high-quality baked goods
Support ordering, receiving, and inventory control processes
Monitor shrink and implement actions to minimize waste
Maintain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing bakery displays
Execute ad plans, seasonal features, and promotional items
Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and product signage
Support custom cake orders and special customer requests
Ensure all bakery products meet company quality and freshness standards
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling guidelines
Maintain proper storage, labeling, and temperature control
Ensure department is audit-ready at all times
Provide friendly, engaging, and helpful service to customers
Assist customers with product selection, custom orders, and recommendations
Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
Promote bakery items, seasonal features, and specialty products
Assist in supervising, training, and coaching bakery associates
Delegate daily tasks and ensure completion of workload
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development
Step into leadership role in absence of the Bakery Manager
